EFFECTS OF HUMIC ACID DOSES ON FORAGE YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS OF SILAGE CORN (Zea mays L.) CULTIVARS
This study aims to determine the effect of humic acid fertilizer doses on forage yield a yield components and some quality characteristics of corn silage (Zea mays L.) cultivars (M17GS01, Hido, LG Turuva, and Pioneer PR31Y43) with four Humic Acid doses (Control, 2.5, 5.0, and 10 kg/ha -1 ) in 2022 and 2023 years at Nide. The field experiment was arranged in a randomized block design according to the split-plot; corn cultivars were located in the main plots, and humic acid doses were in the sub-plots.The forage yield, yield components, and quality parameters were measured. The highest yield of dry matter was determined in the LG Turuva cultivar. The highest fresh and dry matter yields were determined in 10 kg/ha - 1 humic acid dose applications per hectare. This study recommends LG Turuva and humic acid (10 kg/ha - 1 ) for silage corn production in Nide environmental conditions. The highest NDF (45.3%) and ADF ( 27.22%), recorded in cultivar Hido, while the highest starch (30.44%), dry matter (30.01%) and pH value (4.01) was determined in cultivar M17GS01.On the other hand, the highest crude protein content (7.58%), and ash value (4.25%) was determined in the cultivar PR 31Y43.
