THE IMPACT OF INDUSTRIAL INTELLIGENCE ON URBAN ECOLOGICAL RESILIENCE IN CHINA: EVIDENCE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION INTENSITY AND ENERGY UTILIZATION EFFICIENCY

Industrial Intelligence (ININ), as a new engine driving high-quality urban development, holds great potential for enhancing urban ecological resilience through optimizing energy systems. This study explores how ININ impacts Resource-Based Cities Ecological Resilience (RBCER) in China by examining energy consumption intensity and energy utilization efficiency as key mechanisms. The results indicate that ININ significantly enhances RBCER, a robust conclusion across various sensitivity tests. The mechanism analysis reveals that ININ strengthens RBCER by reducing energy consumption intensity and improving energy utilization efficiency as distinct pathways. The spatial effect analysis demonstrates that ININ's impact on RBCER exhibits significant regional spillovers across China. The heterogeneity analysis shows that ININ's enhancement effect on ecological resilience appears more pronounced in eastern and western cities and in mature and regenerative Chinese RBCs.This study enriches the theoretical understanding of how ININ enhances urban ecological resilience through energy-related pathways while providing practical implications for Chinese RBCs pursuing sustainable development through industrial transformation.
