The politics of identity: How ethnic and religious divisions influence electoral outcomes
This investigation analyses how ethnic along with religious identities influence election results while studying their influence on political party structures and electoral institutions and voting behaviour of citizens. The study demonstrates through analysis of different electoral systems how identity political forces shape how ethnic and religious groups affect political governance and citizen participation. The research analyses historical and modern examples to discover central patterns which demonstrate how identity-based politics drives both societal unification and separation although it maintains existing social tensions. With its ability to assist marginalised communities, it maintains difficulties in social cohesion, particularly in diverse population settings. The research adds knowledge to identity politics research by analysing how ethnic and religious sectors influence modern political frameworks. Further research has identified specific territories which need additional study to better predict electoral systems, media campaigns and global migration patterns on identity politics throughout the twenty-first century.
