PERCEPÇÃO DOS TRABALHADORES DE UM CENTRO DE MATERIAL E ESTERILIZAÇÃO ACERCA DO ESTRESSE OCUPACIONAL

This study aimed to identify the factors that contribute to stress in nursing assistants and technicians at a CME. This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research, carried out with nursing workers. Data collection took place in December 2023 using the Focus Group collection technique. Bardin's thematic content analysis was applied. From the content analysis, four categories were formed: Ineffective communication between the CME and the Surgical Center; Work pressure and overload; Power dynamics and hierarchical relationships between nurses and technical staff and psychosocial impact of work. The study highlighted the complexity of factors contributing to occupational stress in CME and the importance of comprehensive approaches to reducing these impacts. The adoption of effective communication strategies, the restructuring of workloads, the improvement of hierarchical relationships and the promotion of psychosocial well-being are fundamental to improving the quality of life of CME workers and, consequently, the quality of the services provided.
