ATUAÇÃO DO ENFERMEIRO NA PROMOÇÃO DO ALEITAMENTO MATERNO: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA

Breastfeeding is considered the most complete nutrition, and its practice is important for maternal and child health. However, successful breastfeeding depends on several factors. The objective of this study was to analyze research presenting guidance provided by nurses on breastfeeding, highlighting their role in educational initiatives in public health networks. This is an integrative literature review, with searches conducted in the CAPES Portal, BVS, and PubMed databases between 2020 and 2025 using the descriptors "Breastfeeding" AND "Nurse" AND "Public Health." Eight articles were selected, highlighting that successful breastfeeding is related to the counseling provided, institutional structure, active listening, and continuing education of professionals, especially nurses. The conclusion is that breastfeeding guidance goes beyond technical aspects: it is comprehensive care. The nurse's participation, combining scientific knowledge with support and presence for the mother, contributes to strengthening maternal confidence and overcoming challenges during lactation. The gestational period is the time to pass on safe and humanized information to promote breastfeeding.
