Pérdida de Funciones Cognitivas y Burnout en Docentes Universitarios de Colombia
Work stress is frequently found in organizations, and the teaching population has been shown to have high levels of stress derived from their work. Stress is characterized by the release of cortisol; When these levels are high and prolonged, it can cause problems in the physical and mental health of those who suffer from it. Methodology: quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive study, and its objective was to describe the prevalence of work stress and loss of cognitive abilities in university teachers in Colombia. Results: the findings demonstrate that teachers at higher education institutions in Colombia have high levels of work stress, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization; However, although they perceive that their cognitive abilities have decreased, they do not show cognitive deterioration.
