This report presents my internship experience in the Income Tax Department of a professional tax consultancy firm.The primary focus was on the practical aspects of Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, especially handling various heads of income including salary, house property, capital gains, business/profession, and other sources.The internship provided exposure to the classification, documentation, and compliance involved in the tax filing process, including the use of AIS/TIS data and reconciliation of taxpayer records.The report outlines departmental functioning, assigned responsibilities, reallife scenarios, and key takeaways, offering a comprehensive understanding of taxation in realworld practice.
