Vibration Mitigation Analysis of Underplatform Damper Based on a Joint Simulation Method

The excessive vibration of the blade is one of the main causes of engine failure, and the underplatform damper (UPD) is an effective device to reduce the blade vibration. Moreover, analyzing the influence laws of system parameters on the vibration mitigation effect is necessary for the design of the UPD. However, the previous methods cannot take into account the accuracy and high efficiency, which is not conducive to the design and application of the UPD in practical engineering. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes a MATLAB–Python–Abaqus joint simulation method to accurately and efficiently perform the vibration mitigation analysis of the UPD. In this study, a simplified single‐degree‐of‐freedom friction model is firstly established by introducing the equivalent stiffness and the equivalent damping. Based on the simplified friction model, a MATLAB–Python–Abaqus joint simulation method based on the Abaqus simulation platform is established. Then, the influence laws of various parameters on the vibration mitigation effect of the UPD are investigated by using the joint simulation method. Finally, the joint simulation method is verified by an experimental study. The results show that the joint simulation method can efficiently and accurately analyze the influence laws of system parameters on the mitigation effect. And there exists an optimal normal load for the UPD to realize the most significant vibration mitigation effect. The proposed joint simulation method will provide a promising solution for the accurate and efficient vibration mitigation analysis in practical applications.
