INCLUSIVITY IN TEACHING SWEDISH ON THE EXAMPLE OF A SWEDISH LANGUAGE TEXTBOOK FOR NON-HETERONORMATIVE INDIVIDUALS
The aim of this article is to present and analyse an unconventional Swedish textbook for beginners as an example of an inclusive approach to Swedish language teaching. Designed for members of the LGBT+ community, the textbook incorporates individualization through lexical, grammatical, and visual inclusivity. Notable features include the use of the gender-neutral personal pronoun ‘hen’ and the representation of diverse identities and social roles. The analysis highlights how the textbook supports linguistic and cultural integration, offering inspiration for educators and material developers in inclusive language education.
