Caracterização biométrica de frutos e sementes e rendimento de polpa de cambucá (Myrciaria floribunda (H. West ex Willd.) O. Berg) – (Myrtaceae)
Fruits of native species present unevenness in vegetative and reproductive aspects, and need to be studied so that selection criteria are established as color, size, thickness, among others. The study aimed to evaluate the biometric characteristics of fruit seeds and cambucá pulp yield. The study was conducted in the Plant Health Laboratory and seeds, Natural Resources axis, as in the Fruits Processing Laboratory of Food Technology Hub, these belonging to the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará – IFCE, Campus Sobral, from March 2019. The fruits were collected in Nova Fatima, district Ipueiras – CE. 50 fruits and seeds were analyzed individually, considering the following aspects: length, width, weight, thickness and pulp yield. For each variable were analyzed 50 fruits and 50 seeds. It was concluded that the fruits of cambucá has rounded shape, with practically the same measures in width and length, with an average of 16.51 mm, the average weight was 3.31 g; thickness of 8.75 mm pulp, the pulp obtained yield was 54.75%; the seeds are ovoid and average weight of 0.63 g; width 8.38 mm and length 11.62 mm; the thousand seed weight was 354 g.
