Curricularização da extensão na Epidemiologia Veterinária: conhecimento dos tutores e produção de vídeo sobre sanidade de pets não convencionais

The aim of this report was to describe an experience of curricularization of university extension in the discipline of Veterinary Epidemiology and Health Planning on the knowledge of tutors and the production of an extension video on the health of unconventional pets. The experience was developed in two stages: the first based on an epidemiological diagnosis, which was carried out through a virtual questionnaire, and the second with an intervention, through the production of an extension video. The virtual questionnaire was answered by ten people, half of them female and the other half male. The most common species was birds. Half of the owners responded that they never took their animals for consultation with a veterinarian and only one owner reported the occurrence of diseases in their animals. The extension video was created through an interview with a veterinarian specializing in unconventional pets. It is concluded that guardians have a lack of knowledge regarding health management and that communication strategies help in disseminating information about unconventional pets.
