Review of Novel Dual-Band Shared-Aperture Antenna Array Based on Metasurfaces
A review of the dual-band shared-aperture antenna arrays based on metasurfaces is presented in this paper. The metasurfaces are employed to minimize interference between the higher-band (HB) and lower-band (LB) antenna elements in dual-band arrays. The first array fully uses the partial reflection inside the loaded dielectric substrate and the absorption performance of the ITO-based metasurface to accomplish decoupling. The second work adopts a band-stop and absorbing metasurface to eliminate and absorb the HB induced current on the LB radiator. The port-to-port isolation of the proposed work is higher than 28 dB with a low center operating frequency ratio of HB antenna to LB antenna (FR). The third work utilizes a transparent wideband absorbing metasurface to suppress the HB scattering wave radiated by the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$L B$</tex> radiator to reduce the mutual coupling. The novel metasurface-based antenna arrays have stable radiation patterns, large bandwidth and cross-band isolation in the whole operating band, maintaining a compact size.
