IoT Devices Resource Management through Extending Kubernetes Device Plugin

It is extremely challenging to handle the deployment and run-time management of IoT-based activities and applications in the cloud-to-edge continuum. There currently exist no solid, production-level solutions available. Container-based deployment, which is considered as one of the most efficient and lightweight manners, has been employed to fast create, scale, and manage massive IoT applications, but still lacking effective and easy IoT sensor data flow management. In this work, we present an applicable solution, an advanced integrated method via modern cloud-edge technology. In particular, we demostrate a Kubernetes-based solution to enable sharing of Edge IoT resources such as sensors and actuators.
