Effective Utilization of ECO Techniques to Enhance Performance in 7nm IC Design
Integrated circuit (IC) design’s unrelenting quest for downsizing has sparked the adoption of cutting-edge technological nodes like 7nm, which provide notable gains in area (PPA), performance, and power efficiency. But these developments also bring with them new difficulties in terms of design complexity, unpredictability, and manufacturing viability. To overcome these obstacles, engineers now use Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), which enable designers to make post-layout adjustments to fix functional flaws, maximize performance, and adhere to strict design requirements. With an emphasis on methods, resources, and best practices that can be used to attain the best outcomes, this study investigates the efficient application of ECO techniques to improve performance in 7nm IC design.
