Performance Analysis of Nano Biosensors Using Electrodes
The design of biosensors has seen remarkable progress in recent years, driven by the need to address the complexity of biological systems and their importance in sustaining healthy ecosystems. Biosensors are now widely applied in areas like food safety, medical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and precision measurements. Nanobiosensors, in particular, can detect a variety of targets, such as antibodies, DNA, bacteria, and metabolites. The core idea behind biosensors is the interaction of a specific biological molecule (bio-analyte) with a bio-receptor. This interaction triggers changes in the system's physicochemical properties. These signals are analysed to measure key parameters like ion concentration, electrical potential, and charge density. Sensitivity and accuracy can be further improved by adjusting conditions such as pH, ion strength, and applied voltage. The transduction process is essential because it ensures that biochemical interactions are effectively translated into measurable electrical outputs. This makes biosensors reliable for real-time monitoring. Advances in materials science, especially nanotechnology, have significantly enhanced the sensitivity and precision of biosensors.
