An Enhanced Incremental Conductance Based MPPT Technique for Grid Connected Photovoltaic System
The use of renewable energy sources definitely cause downfall in the greenhouse gas emissions by drastically reducing the amount of fossil fuels used to generate power. The deployment of power generation facilities based on renewable energy sources and their integration to the present utility grid would rise the concepts of microgrids. The Photovoltaic (PV) based microgrids are most promising options. The performance of PV systems are dependent on temperature and solar radiation. Using the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique by which the maximum power can be obtained from the solar PV system. The maximum operational power can be tracked via an incremental conductance algorithm effectively for any kind of situation, but has decreased effectiveness as a result of oscillations. This paper presents an adapted strategy to apply incremental conductance method to get around the constraints. In this work, an integral regulator to reduce the erroneous signal produced by comparison with the incremental conductance with the instantaneous behavior. The suggested MPPT controller for PV systems is implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The proposed MPPT controller demonstrates the control strategy's efficacy in a range of operational situations.
