Source Code Designing Method: A Diamond Topology Structure for Protomatrix
This paper proposes a diamond topology structure based on the protomatrix to optimize the source code design, aiming to enhance the lossy compression performance. The protograph-based low-density parity-check code is employed to implement lossy source coding based on the duality principle of coding theory. Since compression performance is related to the coding properties of the protomatrix, the proposed diamond topology structure is designed to optimize the code for reducing the compression distortion. The structural design involves constructing the protomatrix as a connected graph incorporating diamond topology configurations. This approach improves the propagation paths of mutual information within the source encoder, effectively minimizing distortion. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves better compression performance, significantly reducing distortion and improving convergence efficiency.
