Miniaturized Dual-Wideband Filtering Power Divider with High Selectivity

A novel broadband packaged filtering power divider (FPD) with high-selectivity using multilayer stacked striplines is presented in this paper. The scheme employs a looped double-coupled line (LDCL) to achieve both power division and isolation functions. The design consists of three parts: a short-circuited stub, a power division section with a looped double-coupled line (LDCL), and two pairs of short posts. To verify the results, the structure was constructed using a multilayer stacked stripline printed circuit board (PCB) and subjected to electromagnetic simulation analysis. The simulated results show that the designed dual-passband FPD operates in the frequency band of 1.8–4.1 GHz, with the insertion loss S21 and S31 blow 3 dB and a return loss of less than −15 dB. The 3dB fractional bandwidths (FBW) of the two passbands at center frequencies of 2.25 GHz and 3.63 GHz are 41.2 % and 26.7 %, respectively. Compared with existing FPD research, the FPD proposed in this paper has the advantages of miniaturization, simpler structure, wider bandwidth, and higher selectivity.
