A High-Gain Dual-Polarized Magnetoelectric Dipole Using Patch Loading Technique

In this work, a dual-polarized high-gain magnetoelectric dipole (ME-dipole) antenna based on patch loading is proposed. Through introducing four parasitic patches, an impedance bandwidth of 41.8 % and a maximum unit gain of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{13.7 ~ dBi}$</tex> for both polarizations are achieved. The measurement results are consistent with the simulation, and it has potential applications in microwave wireless communications.
