Graphene Assembled Film Based Miniaturized Circular Dipole UHF-RFID Tag Antenna
A miniaturized circular dipole tag antenna based on highly conductive graphene assembled film (GAF) is proposed. The tag antenna is designed as a double-ring structure, with the outer circular dipole and the inner complete ring. Based on the characteristic mode analysis, it is demonstrated that the radiation of the antenna mainly results from the outer circular dipole, while the inner electrically unconnected ring is only used to improve the impedance matching. An equivalent circuit model is constructed and the effect of antenna parameters on impedance matching is analyzed, showing that the impedance adjustment of this antenna is designable, which makes it applicable to multiple chips operating at Ultra High Frequency (UHF). The tag antenna is fabricated and measured, showing that the antenna operates in the UHF band with a read range of 3.14 m and exhibits resistance to bending and corrosion.
