Conceptual Design of Solar Array for Geostationary Satellites and Comparative Analysis of Solar Cells for Minimizing Mass and Area
Geostationary satellites have gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential for various applications, including telecommunications, and scientific research. The solar panel system is a critical component of their design, which provides the necessary power for onboard systems. The design of the solar panel system requires optimization of factors such as weight, volume, and surface area, while ensuring adequate power generation to sustain the satellite's operations, selecting an appropriate solar cell based on mass and size requirements is crucial for optimizing the solar array. This paper presents the conceptual design considerations of solar arrays using various types of solar cells from different manufacturers. The study compares the advantages and disadvantages of these solar cells, focusing on the total mass and surface area required for the solar array
