Research on the Control Systems of Synchronous Reluctance Motors

This paper presents the development of two control systems for synchronous reluctance motors (SynRM). The first method involves maximum current-torque ratio control for synchronous reluctance motor utilizing fuzzy PI, which can solve the problem of slow response in the traditional synchronous reluctance motor control system. The speed loop PI in the control system is replaced by fuzzy PI to enhance the system's resistance to interference. Secondly, a vector control system for synchronous reluctance motors based on a reduced-order state observer is proposed, which similarly enhances the overall system's robustness against disturbances. This paper develops a simulation model in MATLAB Simulink and compares its performance with conventional vector control. Experimental results demonstrate that the MTPA control scheme utilizing fuzzy PI significantly improves the response time and enhances system robustness in comparison to the conventional PI controller. Additionally, the vector control strategy incorporating a reduced-order state observer contributes to an improved overall disturbance rejection capability of the system.
