A Robust Adaptive Framework for Channel Estimation in Massive MIMO Systems with Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces
The Robust Adaptive Channel Estimation Framework (RACEF), a thorough framework for assessing dynamic channel estimation (CE) techniques in large-scale massive MIMO systems augmented by IRS (Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces), is presented in this research. RACEF integrates three critical performance metrics: estimation accuracy, computational complexity, and robustness against channel variations. To quantify estimation accuracy, we employ MSE (Mean Squared Error) analysis, comparing the estimated channel matrix with true channel across diverse scenarios. Computational complexity is assessed using Big O notation, characterizing the algorithm's efficiency concerning the number of antennas and reflecting elements. Furthermore, we conduct sensitivity analysis to evaluate robustness, examining how performance metrics, particularly MSE, respond to variations in channel conditions for example SNR (Signal-To-Noise Ratio) and environmental changes. Through extensive simulations, we demonstrate that RACEF not only achieves superior estimation accuracy but also exhibits reduced computational complexity and enhanced robustness compared to existing techniques. The findings highlight the potential of RACEF to significantly improve the reliability along with efficiency of CE in advanced wireless communication systems (WCS). By providing a structured framework that encompasses accuracy, complexity, and robustness assessments, RACEF paves the way for more effective CE strategies in dynamic environments, ultimately contributing to the advancement of upcoming WCS. This work underscores the importance of a holistic evaluation framework in optimizing CE methods for real-world applications, ensuring robust performance in the face of varying channel conditions.
