Operational Results from UNDINA Project for the Characterization of Underwater Communication Performance
In this paper, we summarize the main results on the experimental activity carried out in three countries (France, Norway, and Germany) to measure the performance of the multi-modal communication and positioning systems developed within the UNDINA project. This paper collects and discusses the lessons learned from these tests and the challenges encountered when verifying and collecting statistics for a multi-modal underwater wireless (acoustic/optical/EM) communication system used by underwater vehicles.
