Leakage Current Suppression Technique for Nonisolated Five-Level Active Midpoint Clamped Inverters
In this paper, for the leakage current problem of the non-isolated five-level active midpoint clamped inverter (<tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$5 \mathrm{L}$</tex>-ANPC), a space vector modulation strategy (LCS-SVPWM) for leakage current is proposed, and the common mode voltage can be suppressed effectively over a wide load range by the combination of “right-angle synthesis principle” and “obtuse synthesis principle” through the reconfiguration of the space vector sequence. By combining the “right-angle synthesis principle” and “obtuse angle synthesis principle” through space vector sequence reconstruction, the common mode voltage suppression is realized over a wide load range, and the common mode voltage amplitude can be limited to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$V_{d c} / 12$</tex> and only change twice in one carrier cycle, thus effectively reducing the system leakage current. In addition, the switching loss can be effectively reduced by considering the voltage magnitude when selecting the synthesis vector, and the simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the method.
