Application of Arduino for Controlling the Speed of DC Motor in Smart Transportation
In the study, a method was developed to adjust the speed of a DC motor using an infrared (IR) remote control system. The aim was to enable easy adjustment of motor speeds without proximity to the motor. An IR transmitter, receiver, microcontroller, and motor driver circuit were set up. The IR transmitter sends encoded commands as IR signals to the receiver, which forwards them to the microcontroller. Using pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques, the microcontroller adjusts the motor's speed by modifying the input voltage according to these commands. This setup allows users to finely adjust the motor's speed within a specific range. Additionally, IR remote control capabilities were integrated, enabling motor operation from a distance. The project addresses the need for user-friendly DC motor speed control systems applicable in robotics, automation, transportation and everyday electronics. Through exploration of its design, functionality, and potential applications, the study sheds light on its significance in advancing motor control technology.
