Wideband Millimeter-Wave Beam Reconfigurable Antenna with Long-Slot Structure
This paper proposes a wideband and high-gain antenna for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications, which employs a three-port feeding structure to achieve beam switching. The antenna utilizes a wideband long-slot structure and folded parabolic reflecting networks to obtain broadband and high-gain radiation characteristics. With the use of three individual ports, the antenna is able to perform beam switching in three different directions. For verification, an antenna prototype operating in the V-band is designed, fabricated, and measured. The experimental results indicate that the designed antenna shows a wide impedance matching bandwidth from 60 GHz to 75 GHz, reaches a maximum radiation gain of 12 dBi, and successfully realizes beam switching at 0° and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\pm 30^{\circ}$</tex> with respect to the broadside direction. Therefore, the proposed antenna, featuring wideband, switched-beam, low-profile, and low complexity, offers a viable solution for various applications.
