Design of Microbump Antenna-on-Chip for IntraChip Wireless Commucation
An end-fire microbump antenna-on-chip (AoC) with high radiation gain was presented for intra-chip wireless communication. The standalone microbump AoC with conical radiation pattern can realize a −2 dBi end-fire radiation gain at 160 GHz. By adding a parasitic element, a quasi-Yagi microbump AoC was presented, whose end-fire radiation gain can be enhanced to 0.2 dBi at 157GHz. The mechanism of the parasitic element was analyzed in this paper.
