A $2 \times 2$ Horn Array Antenna Design

In this paper, a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times 2$</tex> horn array antenna is presented that has wideband and high gain. This proposed array antenna consists of a cavity feed layer at the bottom, a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times 2$</tex> horn array layer in the middle, and a slot layer on the top. The proposed array antenna is excited by a cavity. The radiating section consists of the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$2 \times 2$</tex> horn array layer and the slot array layer. The simulation results of the proposed horn array antenna indicate that the bandwidth of the antenna for impedance matching is 24.4 % from 31.5 to 40.2 GHz with a minimum cross polarization of −33 dB and a peak gain of 21.1 dBi.
