Implementing Gesture Controlled Wheelchair Powered by Solar Energy for Differently Abled and people with amputee

In this paper, we are introduce a wheelchair controlled by gestures and powered by solar energy. Instead of using DC batteries which are generally used to power the embedded boards, we are implementing a better energy saving alternative by using rechargeable batteries charged from solar energy. Another technology which is blooming in the engineering field is the wireless control of medical equipment. This project combines both of these technologies to build a solar powered gesture-controlled wheel chair. The accelerometer is used along with Arduino Uno (microcontroller) to control the servo motors with the help of motor driver. The aim is to use the hand gestures to move the wheelchair and to generate sufficient amount of clean and renewable energy to power the whole unit. The response time of the receiving motors towards the gestures made at transmitter is 1s. The results show the different parameters that are scaled according to the real-life wheelchair.

Instead of using DC batteries which are generally used to power the embedded boards, we are implementing a better energy saving alternative by using rechargeable batteries charged from solar energy. Another technology which is blooming in the engineering field is the wireless control of medical equipment. The response time of the receiving motors towards the gestures made at transmitter is 1s. The results show the different parameters that are scaled according to the real-life wheelchair.
