An advanced MPPT Strategy: Hybrid Sliding Mode Control With Adaptive Gain-Based Optimization Via Fuzzy Logic Techniques for Stand-Alone PV System

In this research, we implemented a fuzzy sliding mode control (FSMC) approach for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in photovoltaic (PV) systems. The core concept of this method is to combine the advantages of fuzzy logic and sliding mode control to enhance power generation efficiency, particularly under varying environmental conditions. The proposed controller comprises two components: The first approach involves a fuzzy logic controller featuring a single input and seven rules, designed to adjust the gain of the sliding mode controller (SMC), while the second element, the sliding mode controller itself, is responsible for ensuring the achievement of the maximum power point (MPP)..Simulation results demonstrate the efficacy of this approach in attaining the maximum power point. The fuzzy sliding mode (FSM) controller enables quicker tracking of the maximum power point, reduces chattering around the operating point, and lessens potential negative impacts on the efficiency of the photovoltaic system.
