Loxoprofen — a new molecule of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on the Russian market
The review presents data on the pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and clinical pharmacology of a novel nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the Russian market — loxoprofen. The review also summarizes information from published articles and results of experimental studies on the pharmacological activity of loxoprofen. Results of studies comparing the loxoprofen efficacy with other NSAIDs as an antipyretic agent in acute upper respiratory tract infections and as an analgesic in musculoskeletal disorders are discussed. Special attention is given to the acceptable safety profile of loxoprofen, particularly with respect to gastrointestinal and cardiovascular systems, which permits its use in patients with comorbidities. Keywords: nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, NSAIDs, acute respiratory viral infections, ARVI, loxoprofen, propionic acid derivatives. For citation: Knorring G.Yu.
