Study on inhomogeneous deformation and texture evolution of ZK60 Mg alloy tensile specimen

Abstract During the processing, the deformation behavior of the workpiece is complex, and the processing damage of the workpiece is affected by deformation behavior in many cases. In the phenomenon of rolling edge-crack and tensile fracture, the damage usually initials in the edge and then expands. This paper considers that this kind of damage phenomenon is related to inhomogeneous deformation, and if the anisotropic mechanical properties of the material are also considered, the deformation of the workpiece will be more complicated and the influence needs to be further studied. Tensile tests are carried out on the extruded ZK60 Mg alloy plane in three different directions to obtain the corresponding mechanical response curves. Based on these curves, this paper establishes the Hill48 anisotropic yield criterion of extruded ZK60 Mg alloy to obtain the local deformation gradient parameters, and the EBSD experiments are conducted to obtain the microstructural information of Mg before and after tensile deformation. According to the deformation behavior and texture evolution behavior of extruded ZK60 Mg alloy at different local positions, this paper concludes that the inhomogeneous deformation is related to the damage behavior, and the anisotropic mechanical properties also affect the deformation behavior which is worthy of further study.
