Influence of secondary orientation and shot peening on recrystallization of DD6 single crystal superalloy
Abstract In the present investigation, the recrystallization behavior of DD6 single-crystal alloy with different secondary orientations was explored. Typical recrystallized grains were successfully fabricated on the single-crystal alloy specimens through shot peening (0.3 MPa and 0.4 MPa), with a subsequent heat treatment. The findings showed that larger shot peening led to a thicker recrystallized layer. The specimen with [110] secondary orientation showed better resistance to recrystallization than that of [010] orientation. The primary influence factors and mechanisms have been discussed.
