Dynamically tunable multi-functional anisotropic metamaterial absorber based on graphene-black phosphorus asymmetric monolayer pattern
Abstract A tunable multiband and broadband anisotropic metamaterial absorber is designed and simulated based on a novel graphene-Black Phosphorus monolayer pattern. The investigated structure offers the triple functionality of focused anisotropic absorption within a single structure. The two-dimensional materials used in the structure enable dynamic tunability and multiband and broadband switching. Structural tunability is possible by applying voltage and adjusting the graphene chemical potential and Black Phosphorus (BP) electron density. The proposed absorber can achieve a maximum absorption of 100% and a Linear Dichroism (LD) of 98% in the range of 0.1–10 terahertz (THz). The proposed absorber also has a wide incidence angle insensitivity. The proposed metamaterial absorber structure has the potential to be used in a variety of THz systems.
