An Integration of Compressed Sensing with a Stream Cipher using XOR for Secure Biomedical Signal Transmission in Networked Environment
Today, the demand for efficient and secure biomedical signal processing methods has been increased with exponential growth of wearable body area network (WBAN) and remote patient monitoring systems. Biomedical signals like EEG, ECG etc. are require secure transmission over the networks and bandwidth-intensive. The solution of this problem covered by Compressed sensing (CS) by enabling data acquisition at sub-Nyquist rates, reducing data volume while maintaining signal fidelity. But it possesses a risk of unauthorized signals reconstruction of sensitive biomedical signals while reduction in data. Cryptology offers the techniques and method to protect the data and maintain the integrity. In this paper, we are analyzing the existing CS framework, integration with CS and cryptology for secure transmission of biomedical signals over networks. We proposed a hybrid framework that contains CS principle with cryptographic methods which ensure integrity, confidentiality and efficiency in biomedical signals communication over the network.
