Design of a StrRucture for a Doherty Power Amplifier with Extended Bandwidth
In this paper, a Doherty power amplifier is designed. The main circuit adopts the two-point matching theory to design a matching network, which removes the impedance transformation line that affects the bandwidth and ensures that the amplifier maintains good performance in both operating conditions. On this basis, the auxiliary circuit is designed to design a structure of impedance compensation, which further compensates the bandwidth at both high and low frequencies. This method eliminates the conventional impedance transformation network and expands the bandwidth while reducing the circuit size. Based on the proposed theory, a Doherty power amplifier with an operating frequency range of 660 MHz to 900 MHz, a saturated output power of more than 49 dBm, a gain range of 12 dB to 16 dB, and a power-added efficiency of 60% to 67% is designed.
