Evaluating WSN Devices for the RPL Protocol for Enhanced Network
Revolutionary progress in the field of IoT technology due to the increase in demand of WSN devices within the communication network allows consistent information sharing across platforms linking sensors and actuators in the surroundings. IoT applications mainly involve the use of lowcost wireless sensor devices to retrieve, generate, and store valuable information for further processing. The collected data is analyzed by artificial intelligence-driven algorithms and the decision is made whether to act or forward the information to the cloud. The work explores the RPL protocol for IoT in different scenarios by evaluating and analyzing the performance of WSNs. The work analyzes the impact of different network topologies on the Low-Power Routing Protocol in terms of power consumption, packet delivery ratio and throughput of the network. Also, focus on the future research areas of the Low-Power Routing Protocol (RPL) are explored.
