The Development and Assessment of a 39 GHz Textile Antenna for Body-Centric Networks

In response to the growing demand for highdata-rate transmission in Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs), this study develops a 39 GHz-optimized textile antenna. The antenna, which measures 9mm x 12mm x 1.16mm, focuses on radiation efficiency, bandwidth, and size reduction. It uses CST (Computer Simulation Technology) technology to provide a return loss of 30.877 dB at 39 GHz, a maximum gain of 8.905 dBi, and an outstanding radiation efficiency of 86.21%. The conformal textile substrate provides a pleasant fit on the human body, helping to eliminate interference. This cloth antenna, carefully developed for realworld use, emerges as a potential option for wireless bodycentric communications, combining technological capability with user-centric design concepts.
