Application of AI in Gamified Learning Objects for Cybersecurity Forensics
This paper explores the design and implementation of Cyber Sleuth - Operation Chronos, an AIenhanced gamified learning object (GLO) developed by the authors at the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy for cybersecurity forensics education. The tool combines theoretical instruction with a role-playing simulation that enables learners to apply digital forensic procedures in realistic, time-sensitive scenarios. The system integrates adaptive feedback, performance tracking, and scenario-based progression using a layered instructional design. Learners engage in mission-driven investigations, receive real-time guidance, and unlock new content based on assessment results. The learning object addresses the limitations of static pedagogical models by offering immersive, practical, and scalable forensic training.
