Sustainable Energy Management in Smart Homes Using IoT and Machine Learning Techniques

Smart homes and other Internet of Things (IoT) technologies are raising, creating energy efficiency opportunities. Applying IoT & machine learning techniques in smart homes provides a potential approach to helping reduce energy consumption, enhance energy efficiency and increase sustainable lifestyles. The Internet of Things (IoT) is at the heart of smart home solutions; it enables a range of devices and appliances in a home to connect and communicate, forming a network of connected smart devices. By receiving real-time information about how users consume power, this network would be able to identify individual patterns in their energy consumption and usage, enabling suitable energy control techniques for each consumer. This data can then be analyzed using machine learning techniques and insights that allow intelligent decisions, such as predicting energy demand and adjusting consumption accordingly. Besides, machine learning algorithms learn and adapt to the preferences of individual users, which helps make energy use more efficient in time. Implementing sustainable energy management in smart homes saves individual users money. It reduces energy bills but also helps reduce carbon footprint at a larger scale and supports good sustainable living practices. It also allows utility companies to manage and distribute their energy resources more effectively.
