Graphene Nanoplatelets Packaging Films as Distributed Temperature Sensors
This paper studies industrial-grade graphene nanoplatelets films proposed as novel packaging materials. Here the possible use of such films as distributed sensing elements is investigated, by exploiting the sensitivity of their electrical resistivity to temperature variations. Commercial films made by a high percentage of graphene nanoplatelets are characterized in terms of electrical resistance, in a significant range of temperature values. A model relating the electrical resistance to the temperature is proposed and experimentally validated, and the sensing performance are assessed in a wide temperature range.
