Real-Time Object Recognition Using Pattern Matching and Image Processing Techniques
Object Recognition In the real world, Object recognition is a complex problem in computer vision, which automatically recognizes objects from an image. Traditional object recognition methods are based on algorithms that use features that lead to high computational complexity and vulnerability to changes in the lighting environment or viewpoint. To compete with this approach, alternative methods for real-time object recognition using pattern matching and image processing techniques are presented. Pattern matching is all about recognizing objects by their patterns. - Image Credit this makes approach computation faster without needing feature extraction. Through the application of these image processing methods, they are somehow fortified and accentuated to be more concentrated, which makes it conducive to a higher pattern-matching IDX process. It reduces noise and enhances object features' contrast, improving accuracy and recognition speed. They combined these methods and created a library to recognize objects at high speed with sufficient accuracy. This system can create templates by using a database containing the images followed by an image inversion process with object feature isolation. The database houses several templates (an Image Net dataset). Then, pattern-matching algorithms are employed to match the patterns in the captured image with those it has stored in its database. This proves vital for real-time object recognition.
