Piezoelectric Organic Generator

This paper presents the research, development, our attempts at implementing and testing our capstone project on generating power to be used in a battery-operated device using a material principle called the piezoelectric effect. In this implementation, two banks of piezoelectric cells are used in parallel and are rectified to generate an electric charge on a capacitor. In addition to this plain functionality, additional protocol for Bluetooth connectivity to connect with a smartphone exists. Details of the working mechanism and apparatus including device assembly, configuration of control hardware and software, use-cases and connectivity are described in the paper. Additionally, test results, future improvements and other implementations of similar technology are discussed as well.
