IOT BASED WEATHER AND AIR QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM
This project presents an IoT-Based Weather and Air Quality Monitoring System using an ESP32 microcontroller for real-time tracking of temperature, humidity, air quality, and gas levels. The system employs a DHT11 sensor for weather parameters such as temperature and humidity, an MQ135 sensor for air quality measurement, and an MQ2 sensor for detecting flammable gases.Sensor readings are processed and scaled into a 0-100 range for easy interpretation.A 16x2 I2C LCD cycles through four modes-temperature/humidity, air quality, gas levels, and system status-updating every three seconds.Data is uploaded every 30 seconds to the ThingSpeak cloud platform for secure storage, remote monitoring, and visualization. The ESP32 manages Wi-Fi connectivity with automatic reconnection to ensure uninterrupted data transmission.Diagnostic features display system health parameters, including Wi-Fi signal strength and memory usage, on the serial monitor.Status indicators such as "Good," "Fair," or "Poor" for air quality, and "Safe," "Warning," or "High" for gas levels, make the system user-friendly.Built with affordable components, the system ensures cost-effectiveness and scalability. It is suitable for diverse applications, including smart homes, industrial safety, agricultural climate control, and urban pollution monitoring. The design emphasizes reliability, accuracy, and accessibility for both technical and non-technical users.ThingSpeak integration supports data analytics and trend visualization. The modular architecture allows for easy expansion with additional sensors. The project overcomes limitations of traditional monitoring systems by providing continuous, remote, and real-time observation.Open-source development encourages customization and community enhancements.Overall, the system delivers a robust, practical, and efficient solution for modern weather and air quality monitoring needs.
