AI-Driven Project Portfolio Optimization: Balancing Innovation and Operations in Post-Pandemic Organizations

The purpose of this paper is to examine how American organizations can improve the automation of their project portfolio for the use of AI systems after a pandemic. Organizations are under more pressure to function creatively and efficiently as a result of growing complexity and the need to make decisions faster. This is a viewpoint that most traditional project management approaches do not effectively address. In this work, we suggest an intelligent project management model that makes extensive use of natural language processing, optimization algorithms, and machine learning. Evidence from a mid-ten U.S. organization reveals significant changes, such as improving the resource by increasing its utility to $25.5 \%$, improving risk mitigation, and improving the return on investment ratio by increasing it to $35 \%$. This study focuses on how artificial intelligence can change the way organizations handle project portfolio management in order to adjust to the uncertain and changing business environment.
