HIGH-PERFORMANCE HYBRID WINDSOLAR ENERGY CONVERSION EMPLOYING SUPER LIFT LUO DCDC TOPOLOGY FOR POWER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
When conventional electricity generation methods are impractical, renewable energy technologies offer a viable alternative.Hybrid generation systems that integrate multiple energy sources have shown high reliability in delivering uninterrupted power.A typical wind-solar hybrid configuration includes a photovoltaic (PV) array, wind turbine, battery bank, inverter, controller, and auxiliary devices for improving power quality. The PV modules convert solar radiation into electrical energy, while wind turbines transform kinetic wind energy into mechanical motion for power generation. The battery bank stores excess energy, supplying it during periods of low sunlight or weak wind. The controller manages battery charging and discharging according to varying demand. In wind systems, a back-to-back DC-AC converter with a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) maintains unity power factor under different wind speeds, whereas PV systems employ Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) to maximize efficiency.Owing to the variable nature of renewables, Internet of Things (IoT) technology is essential for monitoring harmonics, load-side conditions, and system performance. This study evaluates the power quality of a hybrid setup by measuring the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in its output.
