Design and Optimization of Welding Defect Detection on Assembly Line Using Machine Vision System
Unidentified errors on production lines during the production of sheet metal wheels cause serious financial losses to manufacturers and adversely affect customer satisfaction. To eradicate these issues, it is important to enhance the efficiency of quality control checks. Conventional checks performed manually at times prove ineffective, and product flaws remain undetected. As a result, industry has increasingly utilized technological equipment that is not dependent on human resources to perform quality control processes with faster and more precise performance. In industrial production processes, an intelligent camera-based quality control system can deliver much faster and more precise results in inspection of sheet metal wheel production lines compared to through human intervention. In addition, these systems ensure a reduction in production time as well as costs while enhancing the quality of products. This study addresses the performance of vision-based smart industrial cameras, which plays an important role in guaranteeing quality specifications in sheet metal wheel manufacturing processes. The system’s contribution to production results and the gains achieved by producers are determined, with special focus on the productivity of quality control systems by using smart cameras.
