A Survey of a Decade of Interdisciplinary Projects, with Some Eclectic Integration of Engineers

Faculty of Valparaiso University's Department of Computing and Information Sciences (CIS), a part of the College of Arts and Sciences, have come to value being physically and institutionally proximate to the College of Engineering. The nature of and approach to interdisciplinary projects in particular has evolved over time for various reasons but definitely facilitated by this proximity. The evolution of the relationship and its impact are presented through an extensive set of examples, with a particular focus on the participating engineering students. These various efforts have also supported larger institutional objectives and outcomes.
