Cost Effective Pressure Sensors and Vibration Sensors for VibeTech Devices
Older adults with mobility impairments are at a much higher risk for falling, since they are unable to strengthen critical muscles. VibeTech offers two innovative therapeutic vibration devices that can help rehabilitate and restore muscles to reduce falls while also elevating mood. Our capstone project focused on creating companion devices for the Vibesit PRO and VibeTech 2. These devices measure and store vibration, pressure, and acceleration data, facilitating in-depth analysis and enhanced rehabilitation training plans. This paper presents the research, development, implementation, and testing of the sensing devices. The solution contains a pressure, acceleration, and vibration sensors with wireless database transfer, accompanied by a mobile application for live results.
